Another Day At The Park

Fun in the sun. . .

On Friday afternoon, I took the kids to the park. It was such a beautiful day. They both had so much fun. The highlight was of course, swinging on the swings. Aspen kept saying "Higher! Higher! Mom--give me a dunderdog!" (She meant under dog). She squealed with joy each time I pushed her higher and higher. Chaz didn't seem to notice that his swing wasn't going quite as high--okay it was barely moving--but he loved it anyway.

All Lotioned Up. . .

Silence. . .Silence is never a good thing with kids.
It is the calm before the storm. . . when suddenly all of your peaceful, serene thoughts are interrupted by the realization that you have left your kids unattended for longer than 30 seconds. . .and they are perfectly quiet. . . Q-U-I-E-T translates T-R-O-U-B-L-E.
Fortunately, it was just lotion today-- not Aspen ripping the wall paper off her walls, emptying out her drawers, pulling the drawers out of her dresser, and pounding on them w/ a piece of wood that broke off in the process, or helping Chaz scuba dive in the toilet while combing his hair with the toilet brush, or how about throwing eggs in the kitchen while feeding the dogs hot dogs out of the fridge, coloring on the walls with pen, then painting her toenails and the carpet with bright pink fingernail polish. . .(and yes--Aspen has done all of these things). Today was just lotion, which was still messy, but bearable. The good thing is that both kids were pleased with the lotion experience instead of just one, so I took pictures, and threw both kids in the bath tub. Good thing they are cute!!!!

Party on the Block

On Saturday night, four houses in our sub division put together a block party. It was so much fun!! There was tons of delicious food, a huge blow up jump house for the kids, and a live band. The band (Scratch) was the best part! They were awesome! Everyone was dancing in the streets, enjoying each other's company, and having a great time. Aspen enjoyed dancing with Logan and playing with Paige and Riley.

Thanks to those in the neighborhood for throwing an awesome party! I love this town!!!! :)

Alaska Here We Come. . .

Three weeks ago my husband and I went to Alaska with Jared's brother and wife (Josh and Katy), and Jared's Grandma and Grandpa. We had such a great time! We flew into Juneua and then to Petersburg.
We stayed at Point Baker, which is located on the Prince of Wales Islands. We took a float plane to Point Baker and stayed at the Land's End Lodge for a week. We caught halibut, rock fish, red snappers, and bass fish. The highlight of the week was catching the biggest red snapper, and watching Jared harpoon a large halibut.
We saw whales, dolphins, and sea lions.
The Friday before we left, we got into a big storm while we were fishing. At first it was exciting with the wind and rain pouring down on us and the waves getting bigger and bigger. I felt like I was on the Deadliest Catch (Discovery Channel) with my bright yellow rain gear on, and the waves crashing down around us.
Then our guide came and found us. We were fishing by Strait Island. He told us to get back to the lodge because some of the swells were ten feet high. So we strapped on our life jackets, and headed back to the lodge. We followed our guide back to the lodge. The ride back was adventurous, intense, and a litte scary at times. I was relieved when we were back to the lodge.

It was an awesome week, and I would love to go back! I was so happy to get home to my babies though. I missed them sooooo much!!! It was heartbreaking to return home to see my little boy walking and off his bottle. My sister is way to proactive! She stayed at my house with my kids while I was gone. I am actually really lucky to have her and my mother. Thanks Liz!!!!

Birthday Boy

A couple weeks ago, my baby boy Chaz turned one. Here are some pictures from his birthday party. We had a barbeque with family and friends, and I cooked a dinosaur cake. Chaz played in his own cake mommy made for him, and opened his presents. The kids played in the water, ate cup cakes, and had a great time.

I can't believe my little Moto Man is one already. It seems like just yesterday I was holding him in my arms as a newborn, rocking him to sleep. And although he still only has two teeth, he is growing up faster than my heart can handle. He is such a sweet baby, and no matter how old he gets, he will always be my little boy. I love you Moto!!!

Our Story

Life is busy and crazy, but beautiful. I married my high school sweets (Jare Bear) in Feb. of 2003. We had our five year anniverary this year. I can't believe how time flies. Daddy's little girl, Aspen Jo, was born in Dec. of 2005, and shortly after that we realized we were having another. My blue eyed baby angel Chaz (Moto Man) was born in July of 2007, and just turned one.

I love being a mommy. It is by far the greatest accomplishment of my life. I would have never thought in a million years that I could love another so much. I melt when my little girl sings "You Are My Sunshine", and when my little boy flashes his huge gumball smile at me.

We have many friends here and live among such great people. We are living life, and loving every minute of it :)
